YIDA
We first attempted to enter the Nuba Mountains in 2014, but were shopped short of Sudan’s border at a place called Yida. At the time, Yida was populated by approximately 10,000 Nuban refugees.
We built relationships with the refugees there, and returned to facilitate mobile clinics and offer training for pastors in the camp. We were overjoyed at the ministry we had found in Yida, but we yearned to reach those trapped beyond the Sudanese border, so we prayed for an opportunity to reach the un-reached.

FREEDOM - THE HOPE
TO BUILD A LIFE

WANT TO BRING FREEDOM TO PEOPLE BY PROVIDING TRAINING AND EMPLOYMENT TO BUILD A NEW LIFE?
Back in July, our team returned from the Border of Venezuela, where they met with partners engaged in the fight against human trafficking and the care of those escaping Venezuela in hopes of a better life.
Unfortunately, for so many along that border, they barely make it out, only to find themselves caught in a nefarious system of drugs and sex trafficking. They’re just trying to survive. When our team was speaking with some of the victims, they said, “If we had another option, believe us, we would take it.”
It was a punch to the gut. There needs to be a way for people to make a living and a life outside of this horrifying, heartbreaking system.
Praise the Lord that amidst the tragedy, Pastors and Men and Women of Peace on the ground are on the move to provide employment to those fleeing Venezuela. They need $10,000 of startup costs to purchase sewing machines, buy materials and provide training, but they are building a sewing business specifically for women fleeing human trafficking so that they can build a new life.
This project is unique because it is also set up to boost the Venezuelan economy and provide income for pastors and churches that are supporting the cause. Essentially, the women in this sewing program will create the sewn goods (with our help to provide materials, training and sewing machines), and then they will be sold at churches on the Venezuelan side of the border, as resources there are very limited. Ultimately, they are creating a full-scale vertical business strategy that will provide production jobs for women who want to develop a skill and build a life, and sales opportunities for pastors and churches that want to help the cause and provide goods for their congregations.
Next week our team will be traveling to the border of Venezuela to make sure our guys on the ground have everything they need.
The only catch is that we need to raise $5,000 to make it happen. The total cost of the project is $10,000, but an incredibly generous donor offered to match any donation, dollar for dollar, up to $5,000 to make sure these women and children caught in human trafficking get a chance at a new life!
Will you help us make it happen?! Any donation amount makes a difference and will be doubled by our donor match!
