WHO WE ARE
Answering the Call is a 501(c)(3) international, Christian missions organization
devoted to reaching people in difficult-to-reach places.
We cross borders to bring relief, hope and love to the poor, orphaned, persecuted and marginalized. We come alongside local leaders, encouraging and equipping them to carry out their God-given vision for their communities and surrounding countries.
In every region we first identify the man or woman of peace: an individual who has a God-given vision for his/her community. We then focus on relationship building to ensure we respond in ways that are truly best for the people we are serving.
In nearly every ATC field, there is a strong need for crisis relief. We facilitate food shipments around oppressive militias, repair tents in refugee camps and bring doctors to set up clinics in the bush.
We share the good news of Jesus in every place we go, partnering with local churches when present. The way in which we share the Gospel of Jesus varies according to each field, but it is core to who we are and what we believe.
Upon understanding the vision of local leaders, we often step in to provide resources for much-needed development, such as school buildings, dormitories, wells and orphanages.
We seek to develop income streams that will assist in the ongoing ministry long after ATC has moved to the next field. Our goal is to position local leadership to carry out ministry, crisis relief and sharing the good news of Jesus.
We believe short-term mission experiences are purposeful.
We are limit-pushers and questioners of the status-quo. We are listeners before we are advocates. We are no strangers to war zones and closed countries. We are small and proud of it. And when God tells us to "go," we never refuse.
David & Joy Fuller
Childhood sweethearts, David and Joy Fuller met at church in Southwest Virginia and got married in 1983, at 22 and 19-years-old respectively.
After traveling the world and noticing that relief and mission organizations often withdraw from regions in conflict, war, or extreme persecution, David and Joy felt compelled to start Answering the Call.
God so loved the world that He sent His son Jesus, not to judge the world, but that the world would be saved through Him (John 3:16-17).
Jesus is the Way, the Truth and the life (John 14:6) and true and complete salvation for man is found in Him alone (Acts 4:12).
If we confess our sin and repent, Jesus is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9), giving us new life in Him (2 Corinthians 5:17) and empowering us with the filling of His Holy Spirit (Acts 2:38).
All scripture is inspired by God and is profitable to us for teaching, reproof, correction and training in righteousness (2 Timothy 3:16).
Those who put their faith in Christ Jesus are one body in Him (Galatians 3:26, 28).
In the unity of believers. It is our prayer that unity be perfected among the entire body of Christ such as Jesus spoke of in John 17:23, in order that the world may know He was sent by God and that God loved the world even as He loved His son, Jesus.
