YIDA
We first attempted to enter the Nuba Mountains in 2014, but were shopped short of Sudan’s border at a place called Yida. At the time, Yida was populated by approximately 10,000 Nuban refugees.
We built relationships with the refugees there, and returned to facilitate mobile clinics and offer training for pastors in the camp. We were overjoyed at the ministry we had found in Yida, but we yearned to reach those trapped beyond the Sudanese border, so we prayed for an opportunity to reach the un-reached.

Thousands of Deaths and
Hundreds of Thousands Flee
From their Homes Since M23 Takeover
Early this year, the M23 rebel group swiftly overtook two of Congo's largest cities - Goma and Bukavu - two cities we have had a lot of ministry involvement in the past 20 years; one of which is home to our Man of Peace, Désiré.

This takeover has resulted in thousands of deaths and has forced hundreds of thousands of people to flee their homes into neighboring countries and refugee camps across borders. People have been caught in the crossfires, and they have no idea when they will be able to return to their homes or resume a semblance of a normal life.
Recently, Désiré messaged David saying, "Now we can understand what the refugee life means. As I had to tell you in my previous message, our hearts and all our thoughts are in the DRC where the big part of our family remained (the carnal family and the Church) in this country that God has chosen to give us as a motherland. We are infinitely grateful to Him...Please tell our warm love to all the saints in the US who join us by praying for the DRC."

The conflict in East Congo is rooted in the hatred between the Hutus and Tutsis and the fallout from the Rwandan genocide in 1994, that made its way across the Congolese border and has been a threat ever since; not to mention, the long standing competition for control of mineral riches in Congo.
There is a proverb in Africa that states, “When the elephants fight, the grass gets trampled.” The people of East Congo have been that beaten-down grass, and the ones who have traditionally been impacted the worst are the women and children. Food insecurity is already an enormous problem in Eastern Congo, but an event like this can have devastating effects for the most vulnerable.
As the conflict continues since January, the need is rapidly rising, especially for food. We are in consistent contact with our Man of Peace to strategize food shipments and supplies to those who need it most, but are in need of your support.
