YIDA
We first attempted to enter the Nuba Mountains in 2014, but were shopped short of Sudan’s border at a place called Yida. At the time, Yida was populated by approximately 10,000 Nuban refugees.
We built relationships with the refugees there, and returned to facilitate mobile clinics and offer training for pastors in the camp. We were overjoyed at the ministry we had found in Yida, but we yearned to reach those trapped beyond the Sudanese border, so we prayed for an opportunity to reach the un-reached.

The Background
This undisclosed country in South Asia is near the top of the World Watch List on OpenDoors for the persecution of Christians. Persecution levels are in the extreme category with a violence level of over 90%. The persecution of Christians continues through economic alienation and targeted, violent attacks.
The Kids
Around 2008, targeted attacks on Christians brutally killed 1500 people, leaving countless orphans, many of whom had to watch their parents beaten and martyred before their eyes. ATC, along with others, partnered with our Man of Peace to establish an orphanage to care for these amazing children.
The Pastors
Many of the children have grown up to become nurses and pastors. The pastors have joined a larger group of 50 pastors who are rapidly planting churches in a country very hostile towards Christians. Because of this, they do not have a natural way to provide for them or their families, especially with the alienation of Christians.
The Goats
In order to provide for them and their families, we are conducting a goat program that will provide them with 3 goats at $150 per goat. It is a 3 year program that will help them grow their herd to 8-10 goats to provide meat, milk, and cheese for them and many others.
