YIDA
We first attempted to enter the Nuba Mountains in 2014, but were shopped short of Sudan’s border at a place called Yida. At the time, Yida was populated by approximately 10,000 Nuban refugees.
We built relationships with the refugees there, and returned to facilitate mobile clinics and offer training for pastors in the camp. We were overjoyed at the ministry we had found in Yida, but we yearned to reach those trapped beyond the Sudanese border, so we prayed for an opportunity to reach the un-reached.

REFUGIO SOLTÉ
Nestled in southwestern Costa Rica is Refugio Solté, the retreat and training center of Answering the Call. In the early 2000s, while David was on a trip to the Middle East, he began to envision a center where pastors and leaders could go for rest, renewal, and training—a place where they could be empowered in their calling to serve. Shortly after starting Answering the Call, David and his wife Joy began to search for the perfect setting for this ministry.
Today, Refugio Solté sits on 50 lush acres, surrounded by primary rain forest, and overlooks the Pacific Ocean a few kilometers away. The facility can house up to 30 people for camps, training and retreats.
For over 15 years, Refugio Solté, has been a place of renewal for countless individuals from over 30 nations. We are praying it continues to be a place of ministry and rest in the years to come!
